Dental Implants and osseointegration have established themselves as a major scientific breakthrough which revolutionized clinical dentistry. Complications occur but are minimal when proper patient selection, evidence based biomaterials and clinical protocols are followed. The treatment with a higher complication rate is the esthetic zone. This is unfortunately true as the patient expectation are high for optimal and natural esthetics, the anatomy of the anterior jaw bone is often thin and resorbed and the clinical skills and knowledge to manage these complex anterior esthetic cases are often not available.
This online lecture will present in detail the clinical challenges of treating the anterior zone and the most frequently seen complications. Scientific evidence and clinical protocols will be given to present the steps to diagnose, prepare, plan, treat and follow the patient in these esthetic complex situations.
Surgical protocols in GBR planing and grafting, soft tissue augmentation and the optimal implant placement will be presented in lecture formal and in the form of a live surgery documentation.
Learning objectives
- how to diagnose a compromised esthetic implant case
- what are the options to treat a failing esthetic implant case
- what are the clinical protocols to optimize a natural looking marginal gingiva, stable bone and esthetic implant crowns
