Info
Rubber dam isolation has been a key component in dentistry for more than 160 years since its development. Nowadays, isolation plays a crucial role in all dental specialties, including restorative dentistry, endodontics, pedodontic dentistry and orthodontics.
Advantages, such as eliminating moisture of the operative field, protecting anatomical structures and providing better visibility for the operator are some to be noted.
Contemporary restorative protocols require a thorough understanding of the bio-mechanical behavior of teeth, tissue preservation and an early and valid diagnosis, in favor of tooth-restoration dipole long-term longevity.
The object of this course is to analyze all the proposed techniques for the application of rubber dam isolation in direct and indirect restorations, in conditions of redefinition of margin elevation (DME), in endodontic procedures, as well as in it’s use in digital scanning impressions.
