Starting from a single tooth restoration to a full mouth reconstruction, Prosthodontics remains the basic foundation in clinical Dentistry involving basic steps like the diagnosis, treatment planning, tooth preparation, impression, model articulation, laboratory procedures and final delivery. Current evolvement in computer technology (DSD, intraoral scanners, CAD CAM procedures) enables a faster and sometimes easier workflow in some of these steps, but still basic prosthodontic rules need to be applied from the beginning till the end.

This 1-year curriculum aims to a comprehensive training in the field of prosthodontics starting from the clinical evaluation and documentation at the first appointment till the final delivery, including basic steps throughout the treatment.

Topics:
Dental photography
Diagnosis – treatment plan
Digital smile design (DSD)
Articulators and face bow
Occlusal concepts in modern prosthodontics
Maximum intercuspation (MI) vs centric relation (CR)
Management of full arch-mouth cases increasing or reducing the VDO
Tooth preparation designs in modern prosthodontics
Reconstruction of endodontically treated teeth
Ceramic veneers
The synergy between digital and analog workflow. When and how?
Materials used in Prosthodontics. What has changed?
Cementation procedures.

In all sessions live patient demonstrations, and hands on will be performed. At the end of this curriculum all the participants will be able to complete a prosthetic rehabilitation starting from ceramic veneers to full mouth cases using updated modern concepts.

Born in Cles, Trento, Italy, in 1970, he graduated in 1987 as a Master of Art, specializing in metals and free design, at the A. Vittoria State Institute in Trento.
He started to take an interest in dentistry and dental technology and, in 1991, he graduated in Dental Technology at the G. Galilei Institute in Bolzano.
In 1992 he obtained the Master in Dental Technology at the same institute.

In 1991 he started working as a dental technician and, in 2002, he became the owner of his own laboratory in Trento. Since 2008 he has been approaching digital technology associated with dentistry and dental technology in general, cooperating with companies in the development and research of CAD-CAM systems, specific software and materials applied to modern dentistry.

He specializes and dedicates himself above all to important implant-supported restorations, associated with prosthesis with specific and dedicated materials, such as titanium and zirconia technopolymers, and in aesthetic cases with minimal or no-prep preparations. The cases he has carried out follow for the most part the concept of CDP (Complete Digital Patient), conceived by himself with the collaboration of various companies, in order to make the patient in every rehabilitation the "fulcrum" around which the entire dentist-dental technician team rotates and consequently minimizes possible planning and prosthetic treatment errors. He has published several articles on the subject in magazines of the sector, both nationally and internationally.

He holds conferences and individual and collective courses on national and international territory concerning the treatment of materials in rehabilitation and their aesthetic purposes, and on the concept of the Digital Patient.

In Fixed restorations: a clinical guide to the selection of materials and fabrication technology, the authors Irena Sailer, Vincent Fehmer, and Bjarni Pjetursson have created a timely and comprehensive guide to modern reconstructive dentistry.

The book is divided into four parts: basic information regarding materials and production processes, step-by-step clinical procedures with extensive case presentations, long-term outcomes, and management of complications. With over 2000 clinical images and diagrams, backed up with the scientific evidence for recommendations, the best practice for tooth- and implant-supported fixed restorations is clearly described. The vast clinical and technical knowledge and experience of the authors has resulted in a unique textbook that will aid in decision making regarding material selection and procedures for all patients in need of fixed restorations.
