Dear colleagues,
The scientific committee of the “Hellenic Society of Medical and Dental Digital Technology”, in cooperation with “OMNIPRESS” organizes on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd of July, the 5th in a row, successful two day educational event “MASTERMINDS”.
This year it will have a different character, aiming at an even higher level of education for the attendees. For this reason, a “MASTERCLASS” will be held with a limited number of attendees, during which two of the most renowned Swiss speakers, will unfold their long term experience in the field of Aesthetic Implantology and Microsurgery for soft tissue augmentation procedures.
In details, Ueli Grunder will present all the theory and techniques that he uses for 30 consecutive years, regarding the surgical and prosthetic part of dental implants in the aesthetic zone, from extracting a tooth to the temporary and final restorations, focusing on techniques of Guided Bone Regeneration.
The following day, Rino Burkhardt will analyze the surgical techniques for soft tissues around teeth and implants, presenting a biological and surgical approach, focusing on the factor “patient”, “surgeon”, as well as other endogenous and exogenous factors that may lead to potential complications and failures.
Aiming once again at organizing a scientifically complete educational program, your attendance would greatly honour us, since it presents an opportunity to meet in person and exchange our experiences, knowledge and concerns together with two high end clinicians.

Dr. Rino Burkhardt runs a private clinic in Zurich, Switzerland, limited to Periodontology and Implantology. Additionally, he holds an associate professorship at the University of Zurich and honorary professorship at the University of Hong Kong. In the early 90ies, he was one of the first clinicians who introduced microsurgical techniques in periodontics. Today, he is a leading expert in this field with a clinical experience of more than two decades. Beyond his clinical activities, he actively participates in clinical research related to wound healing, periodontal regeneration and skills evaluation. He has authored several refereed articles and book chapters about the aforementioned topics. Currently, he is the president of the Swiss Society of Oral Implantology, the vice president of the Clinical Research Foundation for the Promotion of Oral Health and Board Member of the Research Group of Oral Soft Tissue Biology and Wound Healing.

Dr. Ueli Grunder received his DMD degree from the University of Zurich,
Switzerland, in 1982. His post-graduate education in advanced fixed
prosthodontics also came from the University of Zurich.
He received his specialist in fixed prosthodontics of the Swiss Society of
Prosthodontics (SSRD) and in implantology of the Swiss Society of Oral
Implantology (SGI).
He maintains a private practice together with Thomas Gaberthüel from 1989 –
2014 and with David Schneider and Jörg Michel since 2018 in Zollikon-Zurich and
has published numerous papers and extensively lectured nationally and
internationally on the surgical and prosthetic aspects of implant dentistry. His book
“Implants in the aesthetic zone” was published by Quintessence” 2015 and has
been translated in 11 languages as of today.
Dr. Grunder is Past-president of the Swiss Society of Oral Implantology (SSOI)
and Past-President of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (EAED)

Aesthetics in Implantology
Reaching an optimal esthetic result in implant therapy is a challenging and largescale procedure. One of the most important aspects is the predictability of our final results. The different disciplins of dentistry which are involved (oral surgery, periosurgery, prosthodontics) should not be discussed separately.
The only way to achieve a satisfactory result is to take into consideration all possible aspects during every step of the treatment (treatment planning, surgery, prosthodontics).
